// WINNER OF THE TUMI 19 DEGREE JOURNEY AWARD //
Craig Johnson; rancher, photographer and writer of the “`Longmire” series of books; has only experienced his journey through imagination and the pages of his novels. After waiting the entire winter for the thaw, he has been fantasising about following in the footsteps of his latest character in order to write the next chapter. Armed with supplies and a laptop, in a race against the sun he hopes to reach a remote hunters cabin on Cloud Peak, the highest ridge in the Big Horn Mountain Range, by nightfall. This is a lonely pilgrimage that connects him to his roots and gives him the space to imagine the world that his fictional hero inhabits. This is Craig Johnson’s perfect journey.
